A 2005 video has surfaced of Donald Trump making yet more disparaging remarks about women.

See the video here:

A few choice quotes from the recording:

  • “I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married.”
  • “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”
  • “I did try and f— her. She was married.”
  • “Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
  • “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

At the time of recording in 2005, Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, was pregnant. The video was captured on a bus arriving on the set of “Days of our lives”, Trump discussing these lewd remarks with Billy Bush, then of “Access Hollywood”.

Trump was criticized by members of his own party as House Speaker Paul Ryan, said he is “sickened” by Trump’s comments, and said Mr. Trump will no longer appear with him at a campaign event in Wisconsin on Saturday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the comments are “repugnant, and unacceptable in any circumstance” and made clear Trump’s brief statement would not suffice.

  • “As the father of three daughters, I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize directly to women and girls everywhere, and take full responsibility for the utter lack of respect for women shown in his comments on that tape,” he said late Friday.

Of course Trump’s initial response was as one might expect:

  • This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course – not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.

He later released a video statement:

All this follows a long line of past comments by Trump on women, as Hillary Clinton pointed out:
